On the 24th & 25th of August 2005, a seminar on Accounting and Auditing was held at the National Institute of Education, Main Auditorium. This was the second seminar organized by the Internal Audit Branch, to create awareness of rules, regulations, procedures and controls among the senior managers, directors and staff.

The Auditor General Mr S. C. Mayadunne, Director General - Department of public Enterprises Mr. V. Kanagasabapathy, Chief Accountant - Ministry of Education Mr. S. H. A. Abeyanayaka and the Deputy Auditor General Mr. W. M. Wijeyapala were invited to deliver lectures at this seminar.

The objectives of this seminar was to improve the daily activities carried out by following proper financial regulations and procedures thereby improving the reporting standards of Accounts, with a view of utilizing public funds economically, effectively and efficiently.
