Target Group

• Teachers of English who have completed five years service after training.
  
  
• Graduate teachers who have offered English as a subject.

Qualifications required to apply

• Should be an English Trained teacher/ English medium graduate/ graduate with English as a subject/ Graduate who has passed English at the GCE (A/L) examination.
  
  
• Should have a minimum of five years of English Language teaching experience after training or graduation.
  
  
• Should be serving in a government or a government approved school/ pirivena or an institute under the Ministry of Education in the relevant field at the time of applying.
  
  
• Should be below 50 years of age on 31 December of the relevant year.
  
  
• Should not be a student registered for a course offered by the NIE during the previous three years.
  
  
• A course fee will be charged according to rates approved by the Council.
