Background
In an ever-increasing context of approaches and methodologies for second language teaching and learning it is imperative that the professionals involved in the field of Teaching English for the Speakers of Other Languages have to be up dated. On the other hand it is very much obvious that there should be ample opportunities for the teachers of English who teach English as a second language to have opportunities to further their professional capacities after their teacher training or the first degree.
It is with a view to achieve the above targets that the Department of English, NIE has designed the course “Diploma in Teaching English as a Second Language, which caters to the needs of enhancing academic, professional and research skills of the professionals engaged in teaching English as a second language in Sri Lanka. |
